These women may not be dominating the Instagram landscape, but they sure do dominate mine. As Instagram has evolved to include every type of user imaginable, it has inevitably opened up to beautiful, creative and all-round wonderful people. These few are just some of many that brighten many a day, including mine, and hopefully will grow to brighten yours too.

Noor fits into one of my favourite Instagram account types- she mixes art/pretty posts with personal update-type posts. She is part of the epidemic paint mixing obsession that's in at the moment and is an all-round cool gal. She's one to follow if you love to have your feed filled with lots and lots of adorable art journal posts and sweet-as captions.

Miranda's account is a mixture of beautiful photography and funky collages. She empowers the female form in her work, with spectacular results.

If you're into plants, European photography and gorgeous hair, Min is your girl. She's not only a very sweet girl but has a knack for finding the beautiful moments of every day.

Muneera is a girl of incredible collage skills and a knack for finding the artistic possibilities in everyday places and things.

Mary is an artist in the truest form of the word. Her body is her canvas, brush and clay. She embodies female empowerment in every way and is brutally honest about herself and the world in her captions. She speaks openly about her body and her emotions and stands up for what she believes in.

Imogen is my favourite social media personality of all time, she uses her account to document the growth of her cat, Hank, her occasional existential crises and everything else, from missing her friends, moving across the country, to her menagerie of health issues. She's honest, unique and truly lovely.

Could I really get through an Instagram-related post without talking about the almighty Helena? She's creative and interesting and documents her own personal life while staying true to her art and her emotions. You should also check out her shop where she sells her own handmade paintings, drawings, chokers, hair clips and other lovely bits and pieces.

Emma is the editor in chief of The Messy Heads (best blog of all time, well worth hours of browsing!) and her awesome mind comes out in her social media posts. she is always talking to her followers about self-love, gratefulness and sets and inspiring benchmark for many girls.

This girl may be one of the luckiest ones out there- Cybelle is not only the intern for The Messy Heads, but is always travelling too- at the time of writing she's in france and is spending about 3 months hanging about Europe drinking wine and eating cheese. Her posts are beautiful as is her mind.

Dana is a mixed media artist and photographer who describes herself as being 'stuck in the 70s' and her work certainly shows that. She works with film and all sorts of art forms to create entrancing photographs that take back you to calmer moments. The shots have a surreal Grand Budapest Hotel feel to them and transport you away to a world that's not quite our own.

Cleo is a spectacularly honest girl with a talent for photography and an eye for what looks lovely. To find out more about her and her life take yourself over to her blog.

Caro is the coolest woman this earth has seen! Her social media is filled with love and acceptance and lengthy talks on the things she holds dear. She is talented and personable and well worth being inspired by.

Cartia is an Aussie babe travelling the world- hopping from Italy to New York, before flying to Sydney for a few days and then back to Byron where she meets a magical landscape and beautiful people. She leads the life most people only dream of, filled with live music, travel and seeing the beautiful places of the world. She is also a really great person to check out on snap chat where she occasionally pops up with a chat about caring for yourself or the world around you.

For the life of me I couldn't find this girl's name! I've followed her for ages and she consistently comes through with inspiring and beautiful posts about everything from skin lightening to discrimination within India. She provides insight into what it's really like to live as a woman of colour without sugarcoating it one bit.
